Insight meditation, also known as mindfulness or vipassana meditation, comes from the early Buddhist tradition. Through learning to bring a steady and spacious awareness to direct experience, moment by moment, insight meditation aims to free the mind from the distortions of self-centeredness, negativity, and confusion.
