Temira (they/them) has been meditating since 2013. Their practice began with Andy Puddicombe's Headspace app and shifted to in-person practice with the Thai Forest monastics at Pacific Hermitage in White Salmon, Washington. Wanting more of a social justice take on Buddhism, Temira began sitting with SIMS in 2020. Temira identifies as Queer and Jewish and holds a deep commitment to equity and social justice practices. In addition to being a dharma practitioner, they are a therapist and recreation weather forecaster. They live in Hood River, Oregon with Strava the wondercat, where they spend lots of time engaging in all the outdoor activities the beautiful Columbia Gorge has to offer.
