Description

Guiding the application of the teaching from the sense of self and not the true principle of selflessness is the single greatest mistake made in Buddhist practice and distorts all the revelations.

Homework

What principles guide your practice and how do they impact what you do within your practice? For instance if your guiding principles have to do with greater space, stillness, love, or decreasing suffering (all attributes that occur when the self loses its dominance), does the practice as you apply it move in that direction? Do you offer love, space, and quietude to your perceived limitations, thereby decreasing your suffering, or do you judge your limitations and thereby create less space, more noise, less acceptance, and greater suffering? With all the sincerity in your heart, look deeply at this issue.
