Beginning Meditation Class: Week 2

Description

This is the second class in a series of 6 classes meant to introduce the basics of Insight Meditation to beginners.  In each session Rodney Smith provides guided meditation instruction, homework to be done daily for a week, answers questions from students and introduces new concepts and techniques that build from previous sessions.

Homework

Keep this homework very simple.  Spend the week emphasizing a relaxed body and mind.  Build a natural bridge between engaging and interacting with life and the qualities of ease, softness, and relaxation.  Whenever you feel your body tight and tense, soften your belly and breath long slow in and out-breathes. Soften the mind as you do when you begin sitting meditation and release the tension.  Continue the activity from a settled back, receptive posture.
