Either we are separate or we are not. If we are not, then we have to use awareness to orient us to the true and wise relationship of interconnection. One of the compelling ways we lose wise view is through our emotions. We use emotions to reinforce assumptions of separation rather than first connecting with the emotion and arresting the need to make the world “outside” hold our emotional blame. Instead, let the emotions (especially the disconnected emotions like anger, fear, impatience, and loneliness) act as a cue to turn back on themselves. First hold the emotion, and then see that it has nothing to do with other. Let it be itself without implicating anyone or anything. Notice how arresting that projection changes everything about the world.
