The Aversive Mind

Homework

What is your relationship to conflict? Is your immediate response to flee, change the subject to something more appeasing, or deny it is occurring? Watch your strategies with conflict or other entrenched forms of avoidance. Set the intention to understand your need to avoid. Catch the moment in which you decide to take flight rather than be with your fear. In that moment you are siding with your righteous opinions and denying growth and access to your heart. You lose control when you do not flee. Establish a steady awareness within the emotion of powerlessness and vulnerability. Let it burn itself out without moving from it into anger and retaliation.
