More than ever, with the speedy pace and busyness of modern urban living, Steady Calm Attention is becoming a rare treasure. There are several extraordinarily helpful skills that enable the attention to become STEADY and to STAY present and aware. When we are (relatively!) calm and steady, our whole body/mind/heart system is rested and nourished; it is only in this mode that we can see and understand HOW we’ve become unnecessarily tense and troubled. Only when we see these tendencies can we release them, treading the path that leads to freedom from all distress. During this talk, Heather outlines these skills. No prior meditation experience is required to appreciate the topic.
