Description

Truthfulness of body, speech, and mind is the willingness to release all forms of self-deception and is the lynchpin to dharma growth.

Homework

Sincerity is a measurement of truthfulness. Sincerity involves your willingness to acknowledge a distortion without pretension, your determination to uncover pain without blame, and your ability to face facts without defensiveness. Truthfulness is of body, speech, and mind. Assess which of these areas needs more conscious attention. Notice where you stray from truth and where you embrace it, and how each area holds a challenge of risk. Truthfulness of mind is not obeying each thought as if it were the whole story, truthfulness of body is to act in accordance with your insights, and truthfulness of speech is to speak from warmth and connection rather than self-validation.
