Is there joy and interest arising from your dharma practice or does it feeling drab and routine? To see a “problem” with a new set of eyes will infuse interest and joy in your practice. Select a reaction pattern that is a common occurrence. Ask yourself the investigative question, “What is going on here?” Keep the tone of the question soft and inviting, without opinion or judgment, as if you were a scientist on the verge of a discovery. Be curious and invite a sensitivity that the pattern denies. If you are constricted and tight around the reaction, your judgment will prohibit joy, but if you can see the reaction arising within space, that space invites joy.
