The sacredness of life comes when we realize this moment has no alternative. It is not a means to an end. To come to that understanding work with the phrase, “Add nothing to this experience.” In the midst of irritation or annoyance ask yourself where your happiness lies–here within the difficulty or far removed. When you find yourself emotionally reactive, in need of controlling events, or offering unsolicited advice–stop yourself and simply say, “Add nothing to this.” Sit back and receive the moment without your influence. Discover what it is like to take the moment on its own terms without adding a fear or desire.
