Humility, dignity, and integrity are three attitudes of the mind-heart that allow us to transform our daily lives into our monastery for practice. All of our dharma practice has prepared us for a deep realization of these three attitudes. When we cultivate humility, dignity, and integrity, they empower us to counter balance the ego’s clinging and grasping. They enable us to accept the inevitable suffering and dissatisfaction as taught in the First Noble Truth.
What we discover is that these liberating attitudes allow us to be with, even soften into, those things which ordinarily we harden against and free us from a reactive mind. This is a genuine opportunity for you to put in place a transformative way of relating to life with wisdom and compassion. The retreat will consist of sitting and walking meditation, short dharma talks, and time for questions and responses. You will also get the opportunity to practice with Phillip Moffitt’s “Naturally Arising” practice method. This retreat is open to students with all levels of experience.
