Don’t feel guilty about what you don’t do. Feel good about what you do. Take it all as a nourishing experience:

  1. Practice mindfulness in any of the following ways:
    (a) Take some time to meditate regularly.
    (b) Continue to notice positive moments when they are here, especially feel them in your body. Notice what there is to appreciate in this moment whenever you can remember.
    (c) Any time you are getting lost or confused, come back to feeling your body. Ask yourself what’s happening now and pay attention to it with a relaxed, interested and kind awareness.
  2. Stay connected with your intention to incline the mind towards well-being in general, as well as in the middle of activities you’re engaged in. (e.g. “I intend to cultivate well-being/joy as I do the laundry.”)
  3. Sing or express yourself creatively in some way (draw, write, dance, etc.), every day if possible.
  4. Move your body (exercise, yoga, walking) a few times each week.
  5. If you are using a journal, write down anything relevant to this course as it comes up. Remember and write about times that you felt particularly present for your experience.
  6. If you have a partner or buddy with whom you are doing the course, check in with him or her in a supportive, non-judging way.
