When do you find yourself lifeless, uninterested, without zest or zeal for the moment? How do you work with this spiritual lethargy? Do you depend upon entertainment or stimulation to keep your life exciting and interesting? When this state arises is there fear dullness may define you as a person? This week study all aspects of dullness, when and under what circumstances it arises, how you counter the mindstate, any fear that might arise, and conclusions that are drawn. Instead of acting from the dullness and thereby confirming its truth, or applying counter measures to eliminate it, sit and be patient. Do not listen to the thoughts of dullness. Watch the state of mind itself closely and arouse interest in seeing just what it is. Lifelessness is a defense against being here and now. It cannot maintain itself if you refuse to leave here and now. Until we are willing to see through this mindstate, practice will arrest whenever our energy wanes.
