Description

How do the mind and body relate and does this tell us something regarding our identification with the processes involved? How does “mine and yours” become established within this relationship of mind/body?

Homework

Are the mind and body separate? Or does the mind express itself through the body, and the body through the mind? The body provides subtle cues of the allures and aversions of our mind, and the mind in return often mirrors the disposition of our physical state. See if you can pick up this back and forth communication. For instance when you want something, what is the physical response of the body? Where do you feel it in the body? Is there a physical leaning toward or away from the experience that accompanies the mind’s desire or aversion? Notice the whole process of eating. Is there physical hunger of the body that expresses itself through the mind’s desire? When the body is satiated how is that communicated to the mind, and what happens to the mind as the body digests it food? Let the body hold the mind and allow the subtlety of this communication to increase.
