Do you remember a moment when you were not aware of watching or commentating on your actions, when you were totally abiding within what you were doing, without any distinction between you and the doing of it? Being totally present while listening might be an example. “Forgetting the Ox” is forgetting the distinction of self and other. These moments occur when least expected, without effort or trying to make it happen. The easiest access is through relaxation and ease. This week relax your need to define yourself and watch your boundaries blur. Notice what brings you back. See if moments of self-forgetting occur on their own. Self-forgetting is abiding in presence, not being lost in thought.
