Homework

The density of frenetic activity and the yearning to stay busy creates an ongoing resistance to the state of calm. Slowing down and receiving the world is essential to establishing calm. For these two weeks begin the process of listening instead of speaking; understanding rather than influencing; offering attention before asking for it. Work to slow down and individuate each experience as complete in itself. Set the goal of doing five actions each day with complete body and mind. Set the intention to stop or slow down when you are speeding out of control. Ask yourself where you are going and what is more precious than now? The mind will fight against receiving the world and moderating its speed. Your willingness to disengage from the powered self-driven life will determine your course in spiritual growth.
