I began my meditation journey at 19, resuming practice in 2004 after a hiatus. Over ten years, I practiced solo before attending my first retreat with Deepak Chopra in 2014. Subsequently, I participated in annual silent meditation retreats with Deepak and Roger Gabriel. In 2018, I sat an Insight retreat and later completed the 2-year Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program in 2021, taught by Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach.   Residing in Canada, I found solace in online sanghas during the pandemic, particularly the SIMS Thursday Night Practice Group.  This virtual community quickly became my home sangha, offering me a connection to both SIMS and Dharma teachings, facilitated by Tim and Tuere, for which I am deeply grateful. With Tuere's mentorship, I recently completed the 2-year Dedicated Practitioner Program (DPP7) at Spirit Rock and co-facilitate the SIMS BIPOC sit with my dear kalyanamitra, Takaaki Okada. Looking forward, I am eager to begin the 2-year Community Dharma Leader program (CDL7) in 2025. Driven by unwavering curiosity in the Dharma and guided by the principle of ehipassiko, I am deeply grateful for the teachings and support of my Dharma friends and the nurturing environment fostered by SIMS.
