Affinity Groups
Affinity Groups at Seattle Insight
Affinity groups are smaller communities within a larger Dharma sangha (community) that share a common identity or experience. They provide a safe and supportive space for members to explore their practice in relation to their shared background.
At SIMS we have ongoing monthly affinity sits for people who identify as BIPOC and another for people who identify as queer. Please read the descriptions below to learn more about each of these groups.Â
We look forward to seeing you here!Â

Group Descriptions
Description
The SIMS BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) Sangha meets online the third Sunday of the month at 4 PM PT. Our intention is to be a refuge, to foster solidarity, and to awaken together. We are an online-only group, as we want to be as accessible as possible to anyone who is interested. We will have a period of formal sitting and then discuss our experiences around the SIMS monthly teaching topic. This group is for anyone who self-identifies as BIPOC. All parts of you are welcome and celebrated here.
Our intention is to be a refuge, to foster solidarity, and to awaken together.
