Description

Join us on October 4th from 9:00 AM-4:30 PM PT for a day long retreat focused on Ending suffering through the 4 noble truths and the noble 8 fold path in contemporary times. The retreat will be led by Nana Gyesie and a number of Assistant Teachers and Local Dharma Leaders to include Sooz Appel, Judith Avinger, Nina Laboy et al.

About the retreat:

The world in 2025 presents new challenges, yet the fundamental nature of suffering (dukkha) remains unchanged. Stress, anxiety, uncertainty, and dissatisfaction arise not just from personal struggles, but from the way we relate to life itself.

The Buddha’s first teaching—The Four Noble Truths—was a direct confrontation with this reality:

Dukkha exists—suffering is woven into conditioned life.
The cause of dukkha—attachment, craving, and clinging fuel suffering.
The cessation of dukkha—liberation is possible.
The path to the end of dukkha—the Noble Eightfold Path provides the way.
This retreat will take participants beyond intellectual understanding into direct experience of freedom.

We will explore:

How suffering arises in daily life (personally and collectively).
How the Eightfold Path provides a practical method to break free.
What awakening means in contemporary life.
This retreat is not about temporary relief—it is about real transformation.
