Description
We invite you to join assistant teachers Sooz Appel and Steve Wilhelm on Saturday, Sept 14th, from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm PDT for a Day of Mindfulness: Cultivating the Brahma Viharas at a time of strife and division.
We will explore how to develop and utilize the four divine abodes – loving-kindness, compassion, sympathetic joy and equanimity – during this period of political and societal difficulty. We will see the great benefits of cultivating these four Brahma Viharas toward all beings, even toward those with whom we disagree.
The day will include periods of sitting and walking meditation, dharma talks and discussion, and group dialogues. There will be a few opportunities for one-on-one dharma dialogues.
This event will meet in a hybrid setting, both In-Person and Online simultaneously. Zoom log in information and more detailed information about how the Day of Mindfulness will unfold will be emailed to registrants by the day before the event.
Registration
When you register below, you will be required to choose between In-Person and Online. Registration is required in order to receive a Zoom link for the day of the event.
Although this retreat is offered freely, a heartfelt donation of any amount to SIMS, the teachers, and Northlake is gratefully accepted.
