Thursday Night Sangha (Online)
An event every week that begins at 6:30 pm on Thursday, repeating indefinitely
The Thursday Night Sangha (formerly Capitol Hill Meditation Group) is a drop-in group dedicated to supporting the meditation practice of people living in the Seattle area. Previous Vipassana practice and/or previous attendance at an beginning meditation class is helpful but not essential. A 30 minute sit begins at 6:30 pm with a short dharma talk and open discussion following. More information can be found on the Thursday Night Sangha page where you can also subscribe to Tuere Sala’s newsletter for monthly blog posts.
This year’s (2023) teaching theme will be Teaching the Threes: Building a Strong Foundation for Practice.
Jan/Feb/Mar: Triple Jewels (Buddha, Dhamma, Sangha)
Apr/May/Jun: Three Characteristics (Impermanence, Dissatisfaction, Non-self)
Jul/Aug/Sep: Three Poisons (Greed, Hatred, Delusion)
Oct/Nov/Dec: Three Pillars of Insight Practice (Wisdom, Dana, Sila)
During our regular SIMS sits on Mondays, Thursdays and Sundays, we will explore the Buddha’s teachings on 4 of the Threes. Please join us for this rich exploration.
Special Note: The Thursday Night Sangha will continue to meet on Zoom indefinitely. Please click on the link below the large ZOOM link on the Thursday Night Sangha page. It will change weekly so be sure to go back to the page before the meeting to get the right link.
