Weekend Retreat and Benefit for SIMS

Non-Residential

Rodney Smith
with Rodney Smith

2/24/2018 9:00 AM - 2/25/2018 4:30 PM (Saturday and Sunday) at Seattle Insight Meditation Center, (2729 6th Ave. S., Seattle, 98134) (Map It)

This non-residential retreat is offered as a fundraising benefit for SIMS.

Each day of this retreat begins at 9:00am and ends at 4:30pm. A Dharma talk will not be offered on Friday evening.

Using Rodney’s new book, Touching the Infinite, we will spend the weekend employing the Satipatthanna Sutta as our practice guide.  The question we will consider is whether The Four Foundations are ultimately meant to move us from the solidified shapes, projected interpretations and isolating meanings we impart to the world toward the wondrous and formless expression of awareness immediately before our eyes.

We will come together with joy and spend the weekend directly exploring this possibility with guided and unguided meditations, talks, dyads, exercises, discussions and Q&A.

Registration and Donation

Because Rodney is generously offering this non-residential retreat as a benefit to SIMS, please make checks for both registration and teacher dana payable to SIMS.

The suggested event donation is $90 for Saturday and Sunday, or $50 for one day, plus teacher dana (Dana is a term for generosity, or freely offered giving). Teacher dana can be offered at the event. Please use your best efforts to pay the suggested donation or another heartfelt amount. All are welcome regardless of ability to pay.

SIMS is an all volunteer Sangha. There is no paid staff managing retreats. This retreat is possible only with volunteers' dana/generosity of service during the event. Please consider volunteering during this weekend retreat. Our volunteer coordinator will contact you with more details. We appreciate your generosity in action. Thank you.

If you have a question for the teacher or about this event, please send it to calendar@seattleinsight.org.
