Dharma Talk: Contingency Plans for the Trouble Ahead
with Steve Armstrong
9:00 PM (Friday evening)
at Seattle Insight Meditation Center, (2729 6th Ave. S., Seattle, 98134) (Map It)
What can be most confidently relied upon when facing challenges, difficulties and the unknown? While the material assets we possess or command are essential for establishing a minimum of safety, security, stability and a sense of well-being, they alone are not enough. Our understanding, awareness and the attitudes of mind we bring to face the challenges of life are key to the skillful application of mental resources to the inevitable trouble ahead.
On Friday night, Steve will introduce the topic of the development of mind, and on Saturday, participants will practice awareness and the pragmatic application of the developed mind to the challenges we face. Suitable for all students.
