4/6/2017 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM (1st and 3rd Thursdays this month only) at Northlake Unitarian Universalist Church, (308 4th Avenue South, Kirkland, 98033) (Map It)

Kate Dresher, one of our local Pacific Northwest teachers, will share the dharma at this gathering.

Kate has been practicing Buddhist meditation for nearly 20 years and began teaching in 2010 at the request of her root teacher, Michele McDonald. Her training is primarily in the lineage of Mahasi Sayadaw of Burma and her practice has been guided most notably by Chanmyay Myaing Sayadaw and Sayadaw U Vivekananda.  She has practiced as a nun and has received clinical pastoral training.  Prior to following a spiritual calling, she received an undergraduate degree in engineering and a doctorate in economics.  Kate’s teaching emphasizes practicing right where we are as a doorway to the natural unfolding of wisdom and love.  She teaches metta and vipassana retreats primarily in the Pacific Northwest and British Columbia. She also shares the Dhamma regularly in Portland, OR, where she resides.

The SIMS Eastside Insight Meditation sittings are co-facilitated by Steve and Ellen Wilhelm. As a group we are nurturing an Eastside dharma community and supporting our practice together. All interested people are welcome.

We meet in the white chapel behind the main building at Northlake Unitarian Universalist Church.
