Meditation Support Class Series
with Anna Ossenfort
9:00 PM at Seattle Insight Meditation Center, (2729 6th Ave. S., Seattle, 98134) (Map It)
This 4-class series is intended especially for participants who have recently completed the SIMS Introductory Meditation series, or other basic mindfulness, insight, vipassana or Zen training. The series is also suitable for anyone who would like a review of meditation techniques and basic teachings.
This series will continue your exploration of the dharma and meditation, and further support and deepen your meditation practice. Using guided and silent meditation periods, talks, readings, and discussions, we will:
* Review and clarify the insight meditation techniques introduced in the beginning series, working with the Four Foundations of Mindfulness: body, feeling tone, emotions and thoughts, and dharma teachings; and
* Explore the Four Noble Truths, the Three Characteristics and other core Buddhist teachings; and
* Discuss the benefits and challenges of formal daily practice, and identify sources of support and encouragement for continuing your practice.
