Weekend Retreat: The Buddha's Teachings on Social and Communal Harmony

Zoketsu Norman Fischer
with Zoketsu Norman Fischer

9/23/2017 9:00 AM - 9/24/2017  4:30 PM (Saturday and Sunday) at Seattle Insight Meditation Center, (2729 6th Ave. S., Seattle, 98134) (Map It)

Using material from the book of translations of the same title by Bhikku Bodhi (Wisdom Publications), we will explore, for our time and place, the Buddha's teachings on community, friendship, anger, and right speech. Our goal is to bring the teachings to practical, everyday matters: How do we negotiate our lives in these complicated times? How do we make things worse? How can we make them better?  The retreat will include sitting, presentation, and informal discussion.

Each day of this retreat begins at 9:00am and ends at 4:30pm.

Registration and Donation

The suggested event donation is $70 for Saturday and Sunday, or $40 for one day, plus teacher dana. (Dana is a term for generosity, or freely offered giving.) Teacher dana can be offered at the event. Please use your best efforts to pay the suggested donation or another heartfelt amount. All are welcome regardless of ability to pay.
