3/3/2012 9:00 AM - 3/4/2012 4:30 PM at Bastyr University (Map) (Saturday and Sunday)
The Buddha was a scientist of the human condition. He awoke to the nature of the body-mind environment and understood the biological, genetic, moral, psychological, kammic and dhammic laws he was heir to. In dhamma practice, we discover the causes and conditions at play in the world and with awareness and insight realize the emptiness (suññata) of the unique yet ever-changing conjunction of conditions we call “me.” This realization liberates the mind from latent tendencies that manifest as suffering. On this weekend we will practice with knowledge of the laws of causes and conditions aiming to liberate the mind by realizing suññata.
Each day of this retreat begins at 9:00am and ends at 4:30pm.
Volunteering: SIMS needs 10-15 volunteers to help at each event. If you are planning to attend and would like to help (with set up, clean up, tea service, sound system etc.) please click the Email Us button below to contact us.
The suggested event donations are $70 for Sat and Sun or $40 for one day plus dana for the teacher.
