DESCRIPTION:The class is intended for those who have completed a beginning class in the last year or two. However\, anyone who would like a refresher on basics is welcome. Those who attend should have completed a SIMS beginning class or comparable meditation training from a zen or insight meditation teacher.\nThe class will continue practitioners’ exploration of dharma and meditation\, and review and expand upon the meditation techniques introduced in the beginning class.  We’ll look at what the teachings say about the transformative power of mindfulness\, and compare with our own experience.  What are we learning from practice?  Is practice beneficial?  What is hard about practice?  How can we work with the challenges? The class will include readings\, discussion and practice in a variety of insight meditation techniques.\nThe suggested class registration fee is $30 (to cover space rental) plus dana for the teacher\, but all are welcome\, regardless of ability to pay.
